Tiger Woods-Backed PopStroke Tees Up New Indoor Putting Course in Gilbert’s Entertainment District

Tiger Woods-backed PopStroke is swinging into Gilbert with plans for an indoor putting course, branching out from its existing Arizona locations with a fresh indoor twist. According toABC15 News, the golf entertainment venue is slated for construction on a 4.25-acre plot near SanTan Village shopping center, a locality already vibrant with entertainment options like Top Golf and Main Event, setting the stage for PopStroke’s unique offering.

The new facility aims to feature a 36-hole indoor miniature golf course spanning 64,306 square feet, with a clubhouse offering full dining and bar services occupying another 10,450 square feet. PopStroke and its developers aim to align with the area’s broader entertainment and retail spirit. In a proposal submitted to the town of Gilbert s planning commission, this development is presented not as just an addition, but as a calculated enhancement to Gilbert’s bustling entertainment district.

“Popstroke will complement the entertainment district within SanTan Village and will also enhance the existing retail, hospitality, and restaurants adjacent to the proposed use,” Ty LeSueur, the developer of the project, mentioned in the proposal cited byPhoenix Business Journal. Gilbert s Planning Commission has commenced discussions with developers, aiming to harmonize the project with local design guidelines, though no concrete timeline has been disclosed for the project’s commencement or completion.

PopStroke, co-owned by golf legend Tiger Woods, Greg Bartoli, TGR Ventures, and TaylorMade Golf Company, has made a successful debut in the Phoenix market with its first location at Glendale s Westgate Entertainment District, followed by another in Scottsdale. This sets the stage for a new venture in Gilbert, joining competition from Scottsdale-based Putting World and Puttshack, which debuted at the Scottsdale Quarter shopping center in June of last year. The growth of the putting-focused entertainment sector is proving lucrative, expanding not only throughout the Valley but nationally.
