In a tragic turn of events in Monroe County, a 43-year-old woman lost her life in a hit-and-run incident. Erika Todd of Erie was walking near the shoulder of Smith Road in Bedford Township last Saturday night when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle. According to theDetroit News, Todd was subsequently hit by two other vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Monroe County Sheriff s Office is actively seeking the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle. Witnesses or individuals who know the incident are urged to contact authorities at 734-240-7548. Following the initial collision, Todd was struck by two other drivers who remained at the scene. Teresa D. Thivierge, 65, of Toledo, driving a 2007 Honda Accord, and Lexi M. Hall, 19, of Erie, behind the wheel of a 2007 Nissan Sentra, both hit Todd as she lay in the roadway and subsequently stopped their vehicles. They were not injured and were later released by the authorities.

TheMonroe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the identity of the hit-and-run driver and is requesting the public’s assistance. As reported byWWJ Newsradio, the incident occurred in a residential area with a speed limit of 45 miles per hour. First responders from the Bedford Township Fire Department, Monroe Community Ambulance, and the Sheriff s Office Chaplain Program attended the scene.
