Two Men Arrested in Tipton County Following Shooting Incidents Amid Family Dispute

Two men have been arrested in Tipton County after a family dispute led to shootings on consecutive days. According to theFOX13 Memphis, the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) responded to an assault complaint just before midnight on November 10, where they found that a man had been shot at multiple times by Lucius Mason, 36, and Terrence Mason, 24, after an altercation with his girlfriend.

The victim, in an attempt to escape, crashed his vehicle after the two suspects followed him from his home and opened fire. The situation reportedly stems from an argument with the victim’s girlfriend, who is related to the alleged shooters. Terrence Mason was taken into custody by deputies after being uncooperative during his interview, but Lucius Mason evaded initial arrest. According toWREG, Terrence Mason has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and his bond is set at $250,000.

Luck was not on the victim’s side as the following day, on November 11, TCSO deputies were called to a second assault complaint. Lucius Mason allegedly attempted to shoot the same victim once again on Charleston Mason Road. The victim was able to return fire before escaping to safety. The TCSO, with assistance from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, later apprehended Lucius Mason, who continued to display violent behavior by assaulting a correctional staff member in the county jail. In the wake of his arrest, he faces attempted first-degree murder charges, among other offenses, and is held on a $500,000 bond.

Sheriff Shannon Beasley released a statement on the incidents viaSheriff Shannon Beasley’s Facebook page, thanking law enforcement partners for their assistance and commending his staff for their diligent work. “The actions of these two men put many lives in grave danger… Their violent actions were selfish and showed a blatant disregard for the lives and safety of others,” Beasley stated. Both suspects are scheduled to appear before a judge on December 10.
