Gunfire Detected by ShotSpotter Leads to Investigation of Two Connected Shootings in Antioch

Yesterday, police in Antioch responded to two related shootings after receiving ShotSpotter signals. The first incident happened close to Spanos Street and Mahogany Way at approximately 3:26 PM, according to the Antioch Police Department. Gunfire was reported from the 1000 block of Sycamore Drive three minutes later, according to another warning.

At the first site, police found that two to three suspects in one car had fired at another car that was carrying two passengers. Luckily, the attackers ran away and no one was hurt in the targeted vehicle.

A 27-year-old male with bullet wounds connected to the second shooting later showed up at a nearby hospital. He is recuperating and his health is steady. The identities of people implicated have not been made public, and the inquiry is still underway.
