Coppell’s First Responders Unite for 3rd Annual Charity Cornhole Tournament, Foster Community Bonds

This past weekend, when Coppell’s best, the police and firefighters, competed in a new field, community spirit was at its highest. The Coppell Police Department stated on social media that the 3rd Annual CFD against CPD Charity Cornhole Tournament, a beloved local custom that fosters camaraderie and a little healthy competition among Coppell’s first responders, had concluded another fantastic event.

The common goal of improving the community served as the gathering’s main focus, not only the cornhole boards. “Our third annual CFD versus CPD Charity Cornhole Tournament took place on Saturday,” the Coppell Police Department wrote on Facebook. We organize these kinds of activities to foster comradery among our first responders away from the workplace.” In addition to uniting the city’s service providers, this year’s event raised money for the Riverside Church of Christ by charging admission fees to players.

The participants in uniform were not the only members of the community involved. The Citizen’s Police Academy Coppell Alumni Association contributed by giving players and their families the nutrition pizza that keeps these events going. Additionally, Sandy Lake CrossFit deserves recognition for hosting the event in their gym and providing a venue as big as the hearts of those throwing the bags.
