Yesterday, a man was shot and killed in Northeast Portland’s Wilkes area. Following reports of gunfire at around 5:46 p.m. on Monday, Portland Police Bureau officers hurried to the site on the 15900 block of Northeast Fremont Street, the agency said in a news release.
They learned that a victim had been found on the spot while they were traveling to the area. Officers arrived to find a dead male victim; the shooting’s circumstances are still being investigated; and as of right now, no additional information has been made public about the man’s identification or possible suspects.
The Portland Police Bureau has not revealed whether any arrests have been made and is still looking into the event. To help with the investigation, the Bureau is urging witnesses or anybody with knowledge regarding the shooting to come forward.
