New Orleans Teen Arrested on Terrorizing Charges After Threats to Audubon Gentilly School

A 13-year-old was arrested by the New Orleans Police Department yesterday in relation to threats against Audubon Gentilly School. The New Orleans Police Department states that the school is situated in the 4700 block of Painters Street.

During a school lockdown drill, information concerning the threats—which included written remarks and an email—came to light. Concerned about violence against the school and its students, the administration of the school quickly launched an investigation and enlisted the assistance of a school resource officer from the Third District of the New Orleans Police Department. The officer identified the suspect and took him into custody.

On one count of terrorizing, the youngster, who remained anonymous, was admitted to the youngster Justice Intervention Center.
