Authorities have captured a suspect in a case that rocked the Lincoln-Lemington community last year after months of investigation. The suspect, Ronrie Lloyd, 33, was arrested on suspicion of being involved in a gunshot in November 2023 that left 18-year-old Jamair Coachman gravely injured. In April 2024, Coachman passed away from his wounds, according to Pittsburgh Police, marking the tragic conclusion of a months-long pursuit of justice.
Detectives from the Pittsburgh Police Violent Crime Unit and the Fugitive Apprehension Unit worked hard to have Lloyd arrested, and now he is charged with criminal homicide. The community has been waiting for answers and turning to law enforcement for closure since the event on the 7300 block of Everton Street.
The investigation’s specifics and the reasons Lloyd was made a suspect have not been disclosed by the police. Now that Lloyd is in the county jail, the manhunt is over, but the Coachman family’s battle for justice has just begun.
