Four Arrested After Dual High-Speed Police Chases in New Braunfels, One Suspect Linked to Houston Capital Murder Case

Four people, including one guy wanted in Houston on a capital murder charge, were taken into custody Tuesday after two different police chases near New Braunfels. The first incident started just after 10 a.m. when New Braunfels police responded to a complaint regarding a possible burglary on White Wing Way, according to a report by FOX 7 Austin. The pursuit proceeded into I-35 as two guys fled the scene in a stolen white Kia passenger car, and it terminated with a collision on the northbound frontage road in front of Buc-ee’s.

After the crash, the suspects tried to flee on foot, but police apprehended them right away. Although one was taken to the hospital for minor injuries received in the collision, both were detained at the Comal County Jail. One of the suspects was found to have an active capital murder warrant from Houston as the pursuit progressed. The New Braunfels Police Department said, “Charges against the men include evading in a vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle,” adding that further charges are probably on the horizon.

Around noon, a different chase started in Guadalupe County and continued down Walnut Avenue close to I-35 into New Braunfels. The pursuit came to an end at the Engle Road turnaround, where two male suspects were apprehended, according to Herald-Zeitung. As of this now, not much has been made public about what happened during the second chase.

As they continue their investigation and attempt to file formal charges against the people involved in both incidents, investigators have not revealed the identities of the suspects, including the man wanted for capital murder.
