San Diego Police Seek Public’s Help to Catch Suspected Restaurant Burglary Spree Perpetrator

In order to find a suspect linked to a series of restaurant break-ins, the San Diego Police Department is requesting the public’s help. The SDPD has requested assistance after multiple break-ins with a similar pattern of forced entry and theft. The department reports that an unidentified male, possibly between the ages of 20 and 35, with a dark complexion, wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants, has been breaking into restaurants and stealing money.

The suspect used a sledgehammer to shatter through the front glass door of Round Table Pizza on Monday, but he was unable to unlock the safe inside. This person seemed unfazed and went on to the nearby Tutuli Mexican Eatery, where he entered via the front window and took a sizable quantity of cash out of the safe. These offenses are part of a wave of commercial burglaries that have recently plagued the city’s Eastern, Northeastern, and Northwestern Divisions, according to a statement from the San Diego Police Department.

As SDPD detectives attempt to put together these crimes, the investigation is still in progress. The police has noted that because of the identical tactics employed in numerous incidents, it is likely that a single perpetrator is involved. The investigation is being led by Detective Sgt. Brian French of Eastern Division Investigations. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact him by email at [email protected] or to provide anonymous tips by calling the Crime Stoppers line at (888) 580-8477.
