Brinks Employee Robbed, Two Suspects Arrested Following Police Chase on Indianapolis’s Southeast Side

Three individuals and a Brinks armored vehicle were involved in an armed robbery that occurred earlier today on the southeast side of Indianapolis.According to FOX59/CBS4, the incident happened at around 7:52 a.m. close to the intersection of Southeastern Avenue and Northeastern Avenue.

Officers discovered that a Brinks employee had been robbed of “personal items by two male suspects,” as specified by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, when they arrived on the scene. According to WRTV, the incident resulted in a police pursuit as the suspects tried to flee in a car with a third accomplice and crashed their vehicle at S. Arlington Avenue and Julian Avenue.

Soon after the collision, an IMPD K9 unit and the Indiana State Police helped capture two of the perpetrators.The third suspect is still at large as of right now, according to WISH-TV. The culprit, who is still at large, has not been described by the police.

For a brief period, the area surrounding the crash scene—which is about 7 miles northwest of the robbery site and right off Washington Street in Irvington—was under lockdown. Schools around the chase were alerted and placed on lockdown as a precaution in the hunt for the perpetrators. Detectives have since stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community, hence the lockdowns have been lifted. According to police guidelines, anyone with information is asked to call 911.
