Miami-Dade Transit Announces Thanksgiving Day Service Schedules and Office Closures

Due to service modifications announced by Miami-Dade Transit, residents and tourists to Miami will need to modify their travel plans as Thanksgiving approaches. A statement from the Miami-Dade County government states that the Department of transit and Public Works (DTPW) will operate public transit on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day, November 28.

There will be a reduced timetable for MetroConnect, Metrobus, Metrorail, and Metromover services. Nevertheless, during the holiday, the MetroLink will not operate. On Friday, November 29, commuters can anticipate that all Miami-Dade Transit services will resume their regular weekday transit schedule.

Special Transportation (STS) customers can still make or cancel bookings by phoning (305-871-1111), even though the STS, customer service, and administrative offices will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day. According to the Miami-Dade County administration, the closure does not affect online services; EASY Card recharges and purchases can still be made through the Transit Store or a number of mobile apps, such as the Transit App, Go-Miami Dade, and Token Transit.

There are still online options for people who require additional services, such subscribing to the Mobility 305 newsletter for information, special events, and other benefits, following DTPW on social media, or registering up for transit alerts. Customers can also use the DTPW website to apply for a Golden Passport EASY Card or report lost items, ensuring that riders remain informed and connected even after the offices physically close for the day.
