An armed robbery in the Soulard neighborhood claimed the lives of two persons. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said in a press release that the crime happened late last evening on Russell in the 1200 block.

Outside her car, a 29-year-old male and a 25-year-old lady were robbed at gunpoint by three men who got out of a black truck. The thieves searched the woman’s car and stole money from the victims, but they didn’t take anything else.

A fourth accomplice brought the truck back to the location after the robbery to retrieve the three suspects before they all made their getaway. Both the woman and the boyfriend were unharmed in the encounter.

Officers from District 3 are aggressively conducting the inquiry. Anyone with information on the heist should call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward. Anyone with information is urged to come forward by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, as this could aid in the capture of the implicated suspects.
