One person was killed and three people were injured in a deadly shooting in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Around 12:21 p.m. on Thursday, the New Orleans Police Department arrived on the scene of the incident at the junction of Iberville and Royal streets. The New Orleans Police Department reports that the incident took place in the 700 block of Iberville Street.
Officers discovered four people—three men and one woman—with gunshot wounds when they arrived. EMS transported them to a nearby hospital. Later on, one of the male victims passed away. As part of the inquiry, a person of interest has been placed under arrest. Officers in the Eighth District of the New Orleans Police Department are treating the shooting as targeted rather than random.
