Icy Conditions Cause Multi-Truck Crash on I-94 Near Johnson Creek, Minor Injuries Reported

Westbound I-94 near Johnson Creek was stopped early Thursday morning due to a collision involving three pickup trucks carrying huge tandem axle camper trailers. According to FOX6 News, the incident happened at the WIS 26 exit at approximately 3:55 a.m., and emergency personnel were dispatched to the area.

According to the Johnson Creek Fire Department, ice road conditions—which are typical during this season—were the cause of the collision. Authorities discovered all westbound lanes blocked by debris and damaged automobiles, according to a statement from WKOW. One of the campsites was demolished, and both trucks suffered serious damage.

The occupants only suffered minor injuries in spite of the seriousness of the collision and the substantial damage to the vehicle. Morning travelers had to take detours since the westbound lanes of I-94 were closed for several hours. Before returning to Highway 89 in Lake Mills, drivers were diverted to County Highway F in Concord, then County Highway B via Farmington to Johnson Creek, and ultimately Aztalan. According to Channel 3000, traffic was able to continue when emergency and cleanup workers cleared the area, and the lanes reopened at approximately 8:15 a.m.
