New York’s Staten Island. Next week, a number of Staten Island streets will be closed by the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) for milling and paving.
Emerson Hill, Lighthouse Hill, Richmond, and New Springville will be the locations of the daytime work.
Weather or the necessity for urgent road repairs could cause all of the work to change.
In advance, notices are issued asking parked cars to move off roadways that will be milled or paved. The city will tow an automobile across the corner or to the next nearest block without construction if it is not moved.
The contractor shall verbally notify residents of the need to move their automobile in the event of a schedule change or if notices cannot be posted in advance.
Call the Staten Island DOT office at 212-839-2395 or the city’s central complaint hotline at 311 to file a complaint or report a pothole or other street defect.
