Today, a fire engine from the Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue and two other vehicles were involved in a multi-vehicle incident at an intersection in Pembroke Pines. Authorities said the collision happened at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Pines Boulevard.
The emergency vehicle was off the road, resting on a patch of grass, after being hit by a car while responding to a call earlier in the afternoon. This caused the intersection to become blocked.According to WSVN, the driver of the car that struck the truck and a firefighter were both hospitalized and in stable condition.
Florida Power & Light responded to the disturbance by arriving on the scene. There were prolonged traffic problems in the area as a result of the advice given to vehicles to look for other routes while investigations and repairs were being conducted. The collision resulted in major delays for Broward County commuters.According to Local10, fire rescue workers responded to the scene and cleared the debris, and the car involved in the collision stayed at the scene until nearly three o’clock in the afternoon.
