An armed parolee with a lengthy criminal history led Vallejo police on a pursuit Sunday, which resulted in his arrest and the seizure of an illegal pistol, ammo, and methamphetamine. The Patrol Division of the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) reported receiving a tip regarding a parolee-at-large who is wanted for a number of violent crimes and is deemed armed and dangerous.
The suspect was seen by VPD police at Admiral Callaghan Lane and Rotary Way, where he was driving a 1998 Acura Integra. However, the parolee refused to give up and led a brief pursuit when they attempted to pull him over. When he got out of the car and tried to flee across the crowded lanes of I-80, his dog devotedly followed him. He was quickly apprehended while attempting to cross the center median, thus his efforts were in fruitless. Following his arrest, the guy requested that police take his dog to his ex-wife, and the officers complied, according to a social media post from the Vallejo Police Department.
Officers on the scene conducted additional investigation and found that the parolee was in possession of ammunition, methamphetamine, and a pipe that is usually used to ingest the narcotic. Along the path he walked during his escape, a loaded gun with its serial number erased was also discovered. They also found body armor in his car after searching it.
All of the forbidden objects discovered were taken as evidence after the arrest, and the parolee was checked into the Solano County Jail.
