St. Louis Park Nearing End of Yard Waste Collection, Guidelines Emphasized Before Winter Arrival

Residents of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, are reminded that the last days for yard waste collection are quickly coming as the golden leaves of autumn give way to the chill of an impending winter. The City of St. Louis Park in Minnesota has announced that the foliage disposal service will be discontinued the week of November 25–30.

In preparation for this collection finale, the city’s dispatch reminds us that residents must follow stringent instructions: yard waste must be disposed of in compostable bags, personal reusable containers, or tied in bundles that are separate from regular trash. According to the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, despite the routine nature of this duty, it bears a weight—no more than 40 pounds per container—and must be set out by 7 a.m. in order to guarantee its inclusion in the collection, as the season’s increased demands make punctuality a virtue. Not only are deviations from this path discouraged, but some are also unlawful, such as using non-compostable plastic bags or throwing yard waste in regular bins.

Due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday, crews will not be picking up yard waste, trash, organics, or recycling on Thursday, November 28. The City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, announced that there would be a one-day delay in collection for residences on Thursday and Friday.
