After a targeted operation, local law enforcement made multiple arrests in response to an increase in drug dealing in Portland’s Old Town and Downtown. Due to a surge in drug-related activity, a bike squad from the Portland Police Central Precinct targeted the area around Southwest 13th Avenue and Southwest Yamhill Street on Wednesday.
Eight people were arrested as a result of the operation, according to the Portland Police Bureau website, and two of them were given the opportunity to receive rehabilitation rather than go through the criminal court system. Officers found three weapons, $2,395 in cash, and a substantial amount of drugs, including 64.5g of fentanyl.
