Police Seek Public’s Help in Finding Suspects After Teen Shot on East Capitol Street

A 15-year-old male was injured in a shooting incident on East Capitol Street, and Metropolitan Police are currently searching for suspects. Authorities are now asking the public for any information that could help them in their investigation into the Friday morning shooting.

Officers were called to the 1700 block of East Capitol Street at approximately 9:42 a.m., where they found the adolescent victim, according to a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police Department. He had been taken to a nearby hospital after being been shot. Fortunately, his wounds are not thought to be life-threatening at this time. According to investigators, the shooting occurred in an alley behind a Southeast apartment building, and the victim went to a local high school for assistance after being shot.

The police department has asked anyone who may have useful information about the suspects’ identities or about a car connected to the incident to call them right once at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous tips can be provided by calling the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department has offered a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that results in the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the violent incident in an effort to encourage public participation.

By disseminating information about the crime and requesting public support, the police department aims to apprehend the offenders as soon as possible. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to inform the authorities rather than confront suspects directly.
