Unattended Semi Rolls into Hudsonville Subway, No Injuries Reported

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, a semi-truck struck a nearby Subway restaurant last Thursday afternoon in Hudsonville, turning an otherwise ordinary day into a wild one. No one was hurt in the incident, which happened on Corporate Grove Drive just before 5:00 p.m.According to FOX17, the driver started the truck’s dangerous slide when he left it parked in a lot and went to a nearby petrol station without properly applying the parking brake.

When the semi encountered its unintentional drop, it struck a parked vehicle first, then slammed into the Subway building. The damage to the structure was so severe that it had to temporarily close. According to WWMT, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has not yet finished its investigation into the accident and is still putting the pieces of the day’s events together.

According to information provided by the sheriff’s office, the 2019 Volvo truck was located on the south side of the property. Presumably at rest, the car was left unlocked at a slope, resulting in the unintentional trip that seriously damaged the Subway outlet at 3196 Corporate Grove Drive.According to WOODTV, local law enforcement officials are investigating the causes of the storefront’s destruction in great detail.
