CBS Detroit, Madison Heights, Mich.Authorities are looking into the death of a 5-year-old who was discovered unconscious in a Madison Heights residence on Sunday.
The infant was not breathing when the Madison Heights fire and police departments arrived at a house on Hecht Drive. According to a police update on Thursday, the youngster was transferred to a hospital where she passed away.
Police said they have freed a lady who lived in the same house after she was arrested pending test results. Although no charges have been brought, police say they will provide an update if charges are eventually approved.
“Given the upcoming holidays, this was a sad and regrettable circumstance. According to a news release from Madison Heights police, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and those impacted by this incident.”
