With a 23-20 victory over Chicago, Detroit ended a seven-game Thanksgiving losing record that began in 2016 and extended its current winning streak to ten games. The game was up 11% from the Lions-Packers Turkey Day showdown from the previous year.
According to Nielsen statistics, the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants game on Thanksgiving afternoon had an average of 38.8 million viewers, making it the fourth most-watched Thanksgiving Day game ever.
According to the NFL, the three games drew an average of 34.2 million viewers, the highest Thanksgiving Day average since 1988. Additionally, 1.1 million people watched the three games on streaming services on average.
With 141 million viewers, the three games had the largest Thanksgiving attendance ever and a 6% increase over the previous year.
After 12 games, the NFC North-leading Lions (11-1) have their greatest record ever. On Thursday night, they will visit the Green Bay Packers (9-3) at Ford Field.
On Sunday, December 15, at 4:25 p.m., the Lions will make their comeback to CBS to play the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills (10-2) in Week 15. At noon, the crew of “The NFL Today” will be in the Motor City for a special live broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
