CBS Detroit, SAULT STE. MARIE, MIA woman who became unconscious in a car on Thursday was saved by two Michigan State Police troopers in the Upper Peninsula.
MSP’s eighth district troopers Rachel Olesen and Noah Misiak were called to a complaint of a woman in the passenger seat of a vehicle on Sault Ste. Marie’s South Mackinac Trail. According to a social media post by MSPs, the troopers started administering CPR after removing the mother from the automobile with the assistance of her son.
“The woman regained a pulse while traveling to MyMichigan Medical Center for additional care because of the troopers’ prompt efforts and the arrival of emergency medical services shortly after the troopers. Hospital workers later confirmed that the woman’s condition was stable,” MSP stated in the statement.
According to MSP, Misiak had just started his fourth day of work following his graduation from recruit school.
“We are proud of Trooper Olesen and Trooper Misiak for their efforts to help save a life,” said MSP Lt. Ben Eckola in a statement. “They reacted promptly and competently. Trooper Misiak showed talent and poise despite it being only his fourth day of work since graduating from recruit school. The City of Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department and its staff are also acknowledged by MSP for their prompt and efficient response.
