(CBS DETROIT)According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, a lady was convicted in relation to the murder of her ex-boyfriend’s son, who passed away almost six years after being admitted to the hospital due to serious injuries.
More than eight years after Hilary Ulp was convicted of first-degree child abuse in the case, a jury on Monday found her guilty of criminal murder.
Ulp had previously received a term ranging from 11 to 30 years in prison for the conviction of child abuse. On January 28, 2025, the murder conviction will result in sentencing.
The 14-month-old infant was admitted to the hospital on May 15, 2015, according to the prosecution. He passed away on January 7, 2021, from his wounds. When he passed away, the child was almost 7 years old.
“I hope the innocent youngster whose life was brutally taken will receive some justice from today’s verdict. This case serves as a reminder that everyone has a duty to safeguard those who are most in need. In a statement, Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido stated, “The jury’s verdict reflects the seriousness of the defendant’s crimes, which were not only criminal but unconscionable.”
