Wisconsin MAN CAUGHT WITH $22,000 IN COCAINE After Package Seized by Postal Inspectors

Wisconsin authorities arrested a 28-year-old man on drug possession charges after discovering more than 1,000 grams of cocaine in the mail.

According to the Reedsburg Police Department, two search warrants were served at homes on South Aire Drive and Silver Drive in Reedsburg.

The search warrants were acquired following the interception of a 1,074-gram shipment of cocaine by the US Postal Inspection Service.

The street value is estimated at around $22,000. The package originated in Puerto Rico, according to the announcement. An unrelated female brought the box inside after it was delivered by the Postal Inspection Service.

A man who arrived hours later stepped inside and was arrested while attempting to depart with the package. The guy apprehended, 28-year-old Jaoshua A. Vargas-Sanchez of Reedsburg, faces the following charges:

  • Possession with intent to supply cocaine above 40 grams
  • Possession with intent to supply cocaine 1–5 grams
  • Maintaining a drug trafficking location.
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
