A car accident that occurred on Thursday afternoon at a daycare and preschool in Scenic Oaks resulted in the death of a young female staff member, according to the officials.
Another adult and two children were reportedly treated and discharged at the incident scene, while a second instructor and five children were sent to the hospital for investigation.
Sheriff Javier Salazar of Bexar County, Texas, stated that the deceased educator was a woman in her 20s. He referred to the collision as a “tragic accident” and stated that it was not thought that the teacher was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Following the conclusion of a holiday performance at the ExcellED Montessori Plus Daycare Preschool, which is situated along the West Frontage Road of Interstate 10 close to Ranchland View, the unexpected event took place.
According to Salazar, a mom had just finished loading her children into her vehicle when “for whatever reason, she accelerated into another car.”
“Both cars ended up hitting a fence, where on the other side several children were playing and one faculty member was there as well,” he said, adding that the unidentified teacher was described as being “pinned under the vehicle for some time.”
It has been reported by the sheriff that the conditions of the youngsters are not uniform. It is not known how old they are exactly.
A previous medical history of the driver who is suspected to have caused the accident that occurred just before 4 p.m. has been cited by authorities as something that “may have contributed to this, but at this point, we do not believe it has anything to do with intoxication or any kind of criminality.”
Young children and families in the San Antonio and Boerne areas are the primary recipients of the facility’s services. ExcellED Montessori’s spokeswoman stated that the school community was “united in grief” and that efforts were being made to provide support to those who were impacted.

“We are working closely with local authorities as they investigate this incident and will continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of the children in our care as well as our staff and families,” the spokeswoman was quoted as saying.
Individuals who need assistance are being provided with access to counseling and support programs. We ask that you keep everyone who has been affected in your thoughts and prayers, and we respectfully urge that the families be given privacy because they are going through this difficult time.
