Wellington Man Sentenced to 12.5 Years After Pleading Guilty to Six Counts of Vehicular Murder

DDN – A Wellington man who caused a crash that killed six people has learnt his destiny.

Noah Galle, 20, has entered a plea agreement with prosecutors, pleading guilty to six counts of vehicular murder. He was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison, followed by seven years of probation, and his driver’s license has been suspended for three years.

According to the prosecutor, Galle was driving a BMW M5 at 151 mph on State Road 7 near Delray Beach on January 27, 2022, when he collided with an SUV carrying six persons. The speed limit on the route in the area where the accident occurred is 55 mph. Galle was 17 when the accident occurred.

If he had gone to trial and been found guilty, he might have faced up to 90 years in prison, as each offense has a maximum sentence of 15 years.

Galle did not make any comment to the judge. His counsel gave a brief statement in court Monday, stating that Noah thinks about his acts every day and wishes he had died. She also said he sincerely apologized.

The six victims’ relatives did not show up for the hearing. A prosecutor stated that they did not have any objections to the plea deal.

Galle made no statement as he exited the courthouse. He agreed to give himself up on February 3.

“No amount of time can bring the victims back to their families. My heart goes out to all of the victims in this case, as does the heart of our entire office. “We believe this is an appropriate resolution,” said Al Johnson, Chief Assistant State Attorney.

“Why shouldn’t he have gotten a stiffer sentence?” was our response.

“All of the victims have written to us and stated that they do not object to this. Some of them didn’t want him in jail at all. “One wanted us to drop the case completely,” Johnson explained.
