Human Remains Unearthed in Shallow Grave on Detroit’s West Side What Authorities Have Revealed

DDN – The investigation into the human remains found buried in the yard of a vacant rental home on Detroit’s west side is ongoing. The startling discovery was made Monday at a house on the corner of Woodingham and St. Martins.

Neighbors claim investigators stayed on the scene until early in the morning, but they declined to comment on the inquiry on Tuesday (Jan. 7).

“It hurts knowing that it could be a child,” said Nadia Morris, who lives across the street from where the find occurred. Police said construction workers hired by the property owner to spruce up the rental home made the find.

Local 4 briefly spoke with one of the workers over the phone. Despite his observations, he remained skeptical.

A neighbor told us that authorities on the scene informed her that the remains, which were buried in a shallow grave, belonged to a toddler.

“It will begin with knocking on doors and contacting neighbors; start with the homeowner and work your way out. “It’s a meticulous process that will take some time,” Blackburn explained.
