DDN – A 26-year-old Ann Arbor woman was murdered Monday night after being struck by two cars at a crossing, according to police.
According to Pittsfield Township police, the incident occurred around 6:13 p.m. Monday on Carpenter Road south of Packard Road in Pittsfield Township.
Police believe the woman was crossing Carpenter Road east to west in a crosswalk against a red “do not cross” signal when she was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Carpenter Road with a green signal. The woman was then hit by another vehicle.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died of her injuries.
Both drivers involved in the accident remained at the site and cooperated with investigators. The crash did not result in any injuries.
Police said speed and reckless driving are not factors in the incident, but the usage of drugs and alcohol by those involved is under investigation.
The crash is still under investigation.
