LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (DDN) – According to New York State Police, a crash on Long Island’s Southern State Parkway late Sunday night killed at least two persons and injured two more.
Around 11 p.m., the incident occurred near exit 30 for Massapequa and Farmingdale. A black Dodge Dart was allegedly speeding in and out of eastbound lanes when the driver, 19-year-old Jaden Dsouza, lost control and collided with a tree, according to police.
According to authorities, passengers Hailey Dsouza, 21, and Crystal Alba-Figueroa, 23, were killed in the incident. According to authorities, Hailey Dsouza was found locked inside the automobile while Alba-Figueroa had been ejected.
According to investigators, Jaden Dsouza and Anthonie Marte, 23, who was also a passenger in the automobile, were hospitalized in serious condition.
The westbound Southern State Parkway was closed between exits 29 and 30 as state police investigated the crash, but all lanes reopened by 5:40 a.m. on Monday.
Jaden Dsouza was then arrested and charged with DWAI, manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, assault, and aggravated vehicular manslaughter.
