DDN – A 16-year-old boy from Wellpinit, Washington, died last week when the car he was in got stuck under the trailer of a semi-truck near Airway Heights. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office named the boy.
A medical examiner’s office report says that Sweeny Holt-Stearns died at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center from blows to the head.
An 18-year-old woman from Fruitland, Washington, named Shayanne Cicherski died Monday from her injuries in the crash on January 8. This was reported by the Washington State Patrol.
Sources say Cicherski was going south on Wood Road when she didn’t stop at a stop sign at U.S. Highway 2.
When she got to the crossing, she drove under the trailer of a semi that was going west. The driver of the truck wasn’t hurt.
A 13-year-old boy from Wellpinit was hurt in the crash but lived.
As a result of the traffic accident involving our Tribal youth earlier this week, the Spokane Tribe of Indians sent its deepest condolences and prayers to the families, friends, and loved ones of those affected. The tribe said this in a news statement on Friday. “These kinds of accidents are terrible and affect all of our communities.”
