DDN – One individual died early Wednesday after their automobile went off the road and collided with a tree on Columbus’ North Side, according to police.
At 1:05 a.m., a 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling north on Busch Boulevard at the Shapter Avenue intersection when the driver drifted northwest across the center median and southbound lanes, according to a Columbus police statement.
The automobile collided with a tree along the side of Busch Boulevard. Paramedics transported the driver to Riverside Methodist Hospital via ambulance, where they were declared dead at 1:44 a.m.
Police have not disclosed the driver’s identity or stated what the Columbus Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit believes caused the incident.
There were no passengers in the car at the time of the incident.
