Wrong-way Crash on U.S. Route 15 Injures Multiple People, Shuts Down Both Sides of the Road

Multiple persons were injured in a wrong-way crash on U.S. Route 15 in Cumberland County.

It occurred around 4:40 p.m. on the northbound side of the road. According to the Upper Allen Township Police Department, a vehicle entered the northbound lanes near mile marker 41.5 and continued south for at least four miles.

The crash occurred near mile marker 37. Police said the wrong-way driver collided with at least four more vehicles. Both the north and southbound sides of Route 15 were closed as various workers responded to the incident.

The northbound side of Route 15 is closed between the exits for West Lisburn Road and Pennsylvania Route 114. The southbound side reopened around 6:20 p.m.

Multiple teams responded to the location, as evidenced by photos. Upper Allen Township police said several persons were seriously injured. According to PennDOT, one individual was flown to Penn State Hershey.
