Head-on Crash on Fm 281 Kills Stratford Man and Sends Two Others to Hospital With Serious Injuries (1)

MOORE COUNTY, Texas (DDN) – A 65-year-old Stratford man died and two others were injured in a head-on crash on FM 281 in Moore County.

The Texas Department of Transportation reported that the crash occurred around 4.5 miles west of Etter.

The preliminary investigation found that James Ball, of Stratford, was driving a 2018 Toyota Tundra eastbound on FM 281 and Leonard Campbell, 36, of Perryton, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado westbound.

Ball was driving at excessive speeds for the road conditions before merging into the westbound lane and colliding with the Silverado head-on.

Ball was pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.

Campbell was brought to Moore County Hospital’s Emergency Room for non-life-threatening injuries.

Claudio Bustillo-Diaz, 44, of Perryton, was a passenger in the Silverado and was sent to the Moore County Hospital Emergency Room with critical injuries.
