Two-vehicle Crash in Cape Girardeau County Sends Teen Driver to Hospital With Critical Injuries

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (DDN) – One individual was sent to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident in Cape Girardeau County on Monday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that the incident occurred at 11:50 a.m. on January 20 along Route AB, about one mile west of Scott City.

According to MSHP, an 18-year-old male from Advance was driving a 2008 Toyota Prius west on Route AB when he was over the center line and collided with an eastbound 2000 Freightliner driven by a 70-year-old man from Chaffee.

The 18-year-old was sent to St. Francis Medical Center with critical injuries. The driver of the Freightliner was not reported to be hurt.
