HIT-AND-RUN IN BUCKTOWN 37-year-old Man Charged After Leaving Pedestrian Seriously Injured (1)

CHICAGO  (DDN) – A man from the suburbs was charged in connection with a hit-and-run accident that occurred last summer in Bucktown, a neighborhood in Chicago. The accident left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

According to the police, Michael Reznik, 37, reportedly hit a 40-year-old lady who was in the crosswalk on May 4 in the 2000 block of West Armitage Avenue.

The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital after sustaining severe injuries to her body. She was listed as being in critical condition.

The police provided photographs of the four-door sedan that was involved in the incident. The car had suffered substantial damage to the windshield and had lost its front lower grill.

On Tuesday, Reznik, who lives in Wauconda, was taken into custody in the 5500 block of West Grand Avenue.

He was charged with two felonies: fleeing the scene of an accident that caused injury and aggravated reckless driving that caused bodily harm. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count of failing to assist.
