Wrong-way Collision on Route 8 Claims Life of 70-year-old Fairfield Man, Injures Two

DDN – A 70-year-old Fairfield man has died after a wrong-way crash on Route 8 in Bridgeport on Sunday night, according to state police.

According to the state police, Robert Mancini, 70, of Fairfield, was driving north on the southbound side of the road when he collided with a Toyota Corolla.

According to them, the driver of the Kia was unable to stop and crashed into the rear of the Toyota.

According to the state police, Mancini was brought to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where he died on Tuesday.

The other two drivers were taken to Bridgeport Hospital for medical treatment.
