DETROIT (DDN) – A 23-year-old Detroit man is accused of physically and sexually assaulting a woman in a Royal Oak Township motel.
Jacob Macklis faces charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, assault with intent to maim, strangling, felonious assault, domestic violence, and two counts of third-degree child abuse.
On January 18, Michigan State Police arrived at the American Inn in Royal Oak Township after receiving multiple reports of a mother and children begging for help.
When troopers arrived, Macklis was allegedly holding the victim, a 35-year-old woman, by her hair. Macklis allegedly assaulted the woman in the face in front of officers.
Macklis is accused of physically and sexually assaulting the woman, chewing off a part of her ear, and violently attacking her two children.
“The level of violence in this case is shocking,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald stated in a press statement. “My heart goes out to this mom and her children for what they’ve had to endure. My office will file the most serious accusations against this offender because his victims deserve justice.
If convicted of first-degree criminal sexual behavior, Macklis may face life in jail.
