Early Morning Wrong-way Crash in Batesville Leaves Dodge Caravan Driver Dead

BATESVILLE, Texas (DDN) – A driver who was going the wrong way has perished following a serious accident that occurred in Batesville, Texas.

On Wednesday, at approximately 5:30 a.m., an incident took place on US 57, which is located about five miles east of Batesville.

Carmen Ruiz, 50, was driving a Dodge Caravan east on the wrong side of the road when they crashed into a Peterbilt, according to the Texas Department of Highway Safety.

Ruiz was declared deceased at the spot. There were no injuries to the driver of the Peterbilt or their passenger.
