WEISENBERG TWP., Pa. (DDN) – A New York man will face trial for a wrong-way crash on I-78 that gravely injured an Allentown man last summer.
All allegations against 36-year-old Jamal Linton of Brooklyn were set for trial during a preliminary hearing on Monday morning.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, Linton collided with another car while driving his vehicle eastbound on I-78 in Weisenberg Township in August 2024.
A 66-year-old Allentown man was transported to the hospital after his car was split in half.
According to court documents, a trooper on the scene smelled alcohol from Linton and allegedly saw him throw a blue bottle of what seemed to be booze into the bushes.
Linton appeared to be unaware of his location or state during the conversation.
According to police, Linton tried to flee and resisted arrest before being apprehended.
Linton is scheduled to appear in court for a formal arraignment on March 13.
