GEORGIA (DDN) – On Tuesday evening, the Vermont State Police responded to a five-car pileup on Interstate 89, which occurred as people were returning home from work.
At 4:55 p.m. on January 28, troopers responded to complaints regarding a two-car accident on I-89, which was headed south by the Georgia exit. A second incident occurred when a vehicle crashed into the fire truck, which was not moving after the St. Albans Town Fire Department had already responded.
According to the police, several individuals who were engaged in the accident were sent to Northwestern Medical Center to receive treatment for their injuries.
The St. Albans Town Fire Department posted a statement on Facebook that said, “Pay attention, slow down, move over.” “We are extremely grateful and lucky that our crew was not hurt and was able to return home to their families.”
For an hour and a half, both lanes of I-89 heading south were closed while the area was inspected and cleaned up enough that travel could continue.
