Detroit Man on Bicycle Shot Multiple Times in Broad Daylight as Four Gunmen Ambush Him

DETROIT  (DDN)A Detroit bicyclist was approached and shot to death in broad daylight in what police described as a targeted attack in Detroit’s New Center neighborhood.

riding Tuesday, about 9:30 a.m., four guys surrounded a man riding a bike on Woodward Avenue near Grand Boulevard. The four men surrounded him and shot fire, murdering him in front of Exotic Liquor.

Police stated the four suspects then fled.

According to police, the victim was getting on his bike when a dark vehicle drew up, and four males leaped out and began firing.

“They fired numerous shots before getting back into the vehicle and fleeing southbound down Woodward,” said Detroit Police Commander Matthew Fulgenzi.

The victim, a man in his 30s, never had a chance. “It looks like he was targeted. “This was not a random act on the individual,” Fulgenzi explained.

The liquor store is a Green Light location, and authorities are investigating all leads.

“Citizens in our community will not tolerate this. This is unacceptable in our community. “We’re going to use every resource available to hold these people accountable,” he said.

Police have not released the man’s name, and no motive is known at this time.
