Man Speeds Away From Deputies, Crashes Into Two Cars in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (DDN) – Birmingham police were present at the site of a crash that caused a section of U.S. Highway 78 in the Pratt City area to be closed. The incident happened on Wednesday.

During a chase that started with a traffic check, Jefferson County deputies hauled a lady into jail on a misdemeanor warrant.

But then the individual who was driving sped away, according to the Sheriff’s office.

The chase came to a stop just before 9 a.m. when the suspect collided with two other vehicles on the highway at Trilby Street, which is located near Cherry Avenue.

He and the driver of one of the automobiles he hit were brought to UAB hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

After the incident was cleared, the lanes were reopened.
