Eight-Vehicle Crash on I-70 in Columbia Leads to Fire and Traffic Delays

Columbia, Misso. (DDN) – A catastrophe occurred in Columbia that involved multiple cars. The police have released additional details about the incident. The accident happened on Wednesday night.

An eight-car accident occurred on eastbound I-70 at the Range Line Street exit, and the Columbia Police Department (CPD) went to the scene.

A press release stated that around 7:30 p.m., traffic was congested, which prompted drivers to slow down.

A tractor-trailer slowed down for traffic, but then another tractor-trailer hit it, causing it to crash into the median barrier.

When this happened, six more automobiles were involved in the collision. However, the police said that all six drivers were able to get out of their cars without injury.

According to the Columbia Police Department, three of the automobiles that were involved in the incident later took fire, and the Columbia Fire Department put out the flames.

According to the statement, one driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries that were sustained in the incident. Another motorist was given medical treatment for their injuries and then let go on the spot.

According to the officers, the incident caused the closure of I-70 between Stadium Boulevard and Rangle Line Street for around three hours.
