Los Angeles Woman Arrested for Running Red Light, Causing Deadly Crash in Gardena

GARDENA, Cali. (DDN) – A woman was taken into custody on Sunday after reportedly leaving the scene of a fatal two-vehicle collision close to Rowley Park in Gardena.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. close to the junction of Van Ness Avenue and 135th Street, as reported by the Gardena Police Department.

Authorities responded to the location and discovered that two vehicles had been involved in a collision. Authorities reported that one of the drivers was found unresponsive in their vehicle. Paramedics confirmed their deaths at the scene.

The identity of the victim remains unknown at this time.

Authorities report that the second driver, now known as 29-year-old Marian James from Los Angeles, had already left the scene by the time they got there.

James was found and taken into custody outside her residence later on Sunday. A woman was taken into custody at the Gardena Police Department after authorities discovered that she was traveling south on Van Ness when she disregarded a red light at the intersection, resulting in a collision with another vehicle heading east.
