45-Year-Old Woman Dies After Losing Control of Car and Crashing into Semi in Twin Cities

BLOOMINGTON, Minne. (DDN) – The State Patrol has identified a woman from southern Minnesota who died this morning after losing control of her vehicle on a slick stretch of road in the Twin Cities.

According to the State Patrol, Yadir Gabriela Hernandezaquilar, a 45-year-old woman from Shakopee, was driving west on I-494 in Bloomington when she lost control of her vehicle at the Highway 169 interchange. According to the preliminary crash report, the automobile spun and slid from the right lane through all of the lanes of traffic until it was struck on the driver’s side by a semi-truck in the left lane.

Hernandezaquilar was wearing a seatbelt and was declared dead at the site after emergency workers arrived shortly after 6:30 AM.

George Jensen, a 76-year-old man from Eagan, was the driver of the semi-truck and was not hurt.
