80-Year-Old Woman Dies from Critical Injuries After Slamming Vehicle Into Tree in North Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA, South Caro. (DDN) – An 80-year-old driver in North Augusta slammed into a tree, and an autopsy has been arranged for them.

According to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables, Brenda Bevill was driving her 2010 Toyota Corolla south on the 1200 block of Knox Avenue when the car drifted into a median and hit a tree. Ables made this statement late Wednesday.

At 7:16 p.m. on Wednesday, Bevill passed away from her injuries after emergency medical services transported her to Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center.

The autopsy will take place at the Forensic Services Laboratory of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in Newberry.

The inquiry is still ongoing, and both the coroner’s office and the North Augusta Department of Public Safety are involved.

Recently, a man from Odessa was killed in a four-vehicle accident in Ector County on Tuesday.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Gregory Gardner, 60, died when a pickup truck and the car it was dragging entered the lane he was driving in.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the Sierra that was towed collided with Gardner’s Toyota Rav4. The gardener was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
