Phoenix to Hit Near 80°F Before Cooling Trend Begins Next Week; Residents Brace for Weather Shift

PHOENIX, Ari. (DDN) – After a pleasant, peaceful week of weather, changes are on the way for Arizona during the weekend and the next week.

Today’s high in the Valley is expected to be 78 degrees, which is significantly higher than Phoenix’s average high of 70 degrees at this time. The skies will be generally sunny at first, but cloud cover will rise in the afternoon.

Winds should remain light across the state’s deserts today, while gusty southwesterly winds are forecast in the higher altitudes. Gusts might reach 35 mph.

The majority of Arizona will have tranquil weather and lighter winds this weekend. Valley temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s in the mornings and near 80 degrees in the afternoons. Sunday’s cloud cover increases for a cloudy day.

While the weekend looks dry, an unpredictable weather trend is predicted to develop early next week. The Valley’s temperatures will fall to roughly 70 degrees Fahrenheit by Tuesday and to the mid-60s Fahrenheit on Wednesday. Winds will be stronger in the high country, where light snow may occur.

The most powerful of many storms expected to pass through next week appears to arrive around the conclusion of the week. Valley rain chances are around 20% for Thursday and Friday, but there is a lot of uncertainty about the timing, trajectory, and moisture availability with this storm. We’ll keep you updated on the prospects of rain and snow as the date approaches.
